A common sense solution for those who wish to learn to drive standard plus
get all the benefits of the ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education Course:
12 hours of private, one-on-one, in-car instruction split as follows:
-
4 hours of expert manual shift training (with a ProShift instructor working under contract with the course providers listed below) where the student is taught how to handle a “stick shift” correctly and safely.
-
8 hours in an automatic vehicle where the focus is on rules of the road, defensive driving, and road test preparation. You can also make arrangements to use the instructor’s car for your road test if you don’t have access to an automatic...
The Course also includes 20 hours of in-class instruction
(at any of our Partners' convenient classroom locations)
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate
that is recognized by the Insurance industry and allows you to reduce
the waiting time for the Level 1 road test to 8 months (instead of one year).
This program is offered by the following

Note: ProShift does not provide the Ministry-Approved Driver Education Course, and does not instruct holders of a G1 driver's license. The ProShift instructor(s) providing manual shift training as part of that program do so under individual (personal) contract with the above-listed Ministry-Licensed driving schools, and the student must be registered with one of these schools.
